This newsletter comes a little late (by two days) due to myself feeling a bit ill on Friday and Saturday, but that was just a fluke. One thing to keep in mind about this month's release is that you will need to have Source SDK Base 2013 Singleplayer installed. This is due to the fact that I have been only able to get the mod's custom .dlls (client.dll and server.dll) to work when running from the Base (do keep Half-Life 2: Episode Two installed as well).
Below features a screenshot of the menu screen once the modification has been loaded, the background image is just a placeholder until I create a suitable background map:
In the future, I hope to implement the following features to the best of my abilities:
1. A leaning mechanic to allow the player to peak around corners to avoid face-to-face confrontations with enemies.
2. Limited field of view for Civil Protection officers due to their filtration masks.
3. Friendly fire for armed civilians and reduced accuracy.
For those who have already played the Alpha 0.4 version of Above the Catacombs, please consider filling out a short survey of your experiences here. For those who have not played the Alpha 0.4 version of Above the Catacombs, you can download the version here. On a final note, if any of you are interested, I am still seeking volunteers for the Freedom4Gamers Wiki, you may apply here.
